How the Rope pump works

The basic elements of the Rope pump are an endless rope with pistons mounted at intervals of 1 meter. The pistons are made of rubber or plastic and fit with a small clearance in the pump pipe. The rope with pistons turns around at the bottom of the well by means of a guide box and is pulled up through the PVC pump pipe and so lift the water. At the top the diameter of the pump pipe increases and via a Tee piece the water comes out the horizontal outlet pipe.
